Travelers come to Cabo San Lucas for a variety of different reasons. For many it's for the legendary sport fishing at 'Marlin Alley'; while for college students and revel-rousers it's for Cabo's tequila and legendary non-stop party.
Downtown Cabo San Lucas – if you're more anxious to bring home a souvenir hangover than you are a clay donkey, you're sure to find a doozey in one of Cabo's all-night bars. The tequila sunrises runeth full at the likes of El Squid Roe and the Hard Rock Café – just two of Cabo Wabo's most famous hotspots. Also, it wouldn't be a trip to Cabo Wabo with out a visit to the man who made the phrase famous. Cabo Wabo Cantina is owned by Van Halen vocalist Sammy Hagar.
Marlin Alley – Harbor Cabo San Lucas marks the entryway to Marlin Alley – the 'Marlin Capital of the World'. Avid game fishermen are welcome to join a tour group for a day of fishing on their own boats (if they have a valid Oficina de Pesca fishing license). If the Marlin bite, you'll have to resist taking more than one since marlins are strictly protected by Mexican law. If you're seeing your own fisherman off, wish him luck from the harbor. In the wee hours of the morning, the fog might be thin enough for you to see the boats depart. Upon their return, it is tradition for Mexican fisherman to hoist flags as an indication of the size of their catch.
