Waste of Time or Money

Hotel Frances – Guadalajara's charming French-style hotel dates back to 1610, making it the oldest hotel in the city. Sure it's colonial design has intrigued many politicians, writers and artists to stay here in the past, but keep in mind that today live mariachi music is performed in the lobby on Friday evenings at 8 to 9:30 pm and the hotel's disco is in full-swing well into the wee hours of the morning. For the lack of sleep many guests have experienced here – they say 'don't waste your money!'

Ladies Night – Hey ladies, listen up! Tuesday night is 'Ladies' Night' throughout Guadalajara, Mexico. Every Tuesday evening ladies get free admission to Guadalajara nightlife bars, and better yet, all your drinks are free if you're a woman! If you and your girlfriends are trying to decide which night to paint the town red in Guadalajara – hands down Tuesdays!

Tijuana Attractions – there are a number of complaints online about many of Tijuana's attractions, and because Tijuana isn't far from Guadalajara, I thought to give them mention here. Previous visitors have dubbed the following a waste of money:

Mexitlán – Tijuana's run-down Mexican theme park runs from mid-May through to mid-September. Mexitlan is hard to miss when you approach the Tijuana town border but previous visitors have said that the park with its models of famous Mexican buildings, folklore performances, restaurants and shops is a big disappointment.

Madero Wax Museum – This recently opened wax museum is rumored to be very tacky by tourists who have already wasted their time and money here.
