El Eden - Mexico

Mexico Location: about 35 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta; and approximately 2 hours from Cancun.

El Eden – Aptly named El Eden, this tropical park is crowned by the Mismaloya River. The same breathtaking scenery that lured directors to film the television series 'Model of the Year' and the blockbuster movie 'Predator' (starring Arnold Schwarzenegger), will tempt honeymooners and couples looking to be wed to El Eden's tropical paradise.

El Eden was established as the first privately owned conservation area in Mexico in 1990. Here scientists and conservationists promote the conservation of this northeastern portion of the Yucatan Peninsula; including over 500,000 acres of marine grasslands, mangrove swamps, rain forests, savanna, wetlands and sand dunes. The national parks of Rio Lagartos, Isla Contoy and Yum Balam have been established along with El Eden to preserve these delicate ecosystems along with their aquatic and migrant bird species.

This tropical forest will be paradise found for lovebirds looking to tie the knot in front of one of El Eden's spouting waterfalls or natural pools. Nearby, Chico's Paradise Restaurant provides a multi-level palapa built on giant rocks overlooking the River Tuition – perfect for sunset ceremonies or reception dinners.

Nature-loving couples will jump at the chance to join Edenadventure, an eco-scientific tour to the El Eden Private Ecological Reserve. This 3 day/2 night Mexican guided tour explores El Eden's interior wetlands, tropical deciduous forests and savannas. Guests will get close to nature while bird watching, learning animal tracking skills, surveying nocturnal wildlife and exploring caverns and Mayan ruins.
